Pulp & Paper Mills

Acid gas emissions from stack gases in many of the pulp & paper mills in North America raise air pollution concerns. Ever tightening Federal and local regulations of such emissions of hazardous air pollutants demonstrate that solutions to air pollution need to be found.

Established by Solvay Chemicals, Inc. in 2005, SOLVAir Solutions offers the products that can help mills comply with regulations affecting the pulp & paper industry.

Target Pollutants

SOLVAir products help eliminate or control stack gas pollutants such as SO2, SO3, HCl and Hg (mercury).

In a dry injection process in the flue gas stream, SOLVAir Select 200 trona or Select 300 sodium bicarbonate help control these pollutants. DSI is a low capital cost option that meets treatment needs of pulp & paper mills, and equipment can be installed quickly for trials or permanent installations.

Our SOLVAir technical staff can help identify the optimal injection strategy depending on the system configuration and desired reduction targets.
