SOLVAir Target Pollutants Particulates

Particulates

Particulate Matter (PM) refers to fine particles and liquid droplets small enough to become airborne. This can include SO2, SO3 and fly ash created by industrial combustion processes.

The EPA regulates the inhalable fraction of PM pollution because of its ability to enter in the lungs and its potential to greatly impact health.

The SOLVAir Approach

When used as a dry sorbent injected into a baghouse or exhaust duct, SOLVAir Select 200 trona and Select 300 sodium bicarbonate each readily react with acid gases. Select 200 and Select 300 remove SO2, SO3, HCl and HF, all which are primary contributors to PM pollution.

Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) are the pollution control technology of choice to reduce fly ash emissions. In many cases, the use of sodium sorbents such as Select 200 or Select 300 improves the performance of ESP, thereby reducing PM emissions.
